Cura del Biondo: i consigli di ILB per contrastare l'ossidazione

Blond care: ILB's advice to counteract oxidation

If a few weeks after your salon appointment you start to notice a slight dulling of the color and the appearance of unwanted reflections, do not fear the worst!
The number one enemy of the aesthetic quality of blonde hair is, in fact, certainly a process as natural as it is annoying: oxidation.

To understand how this chemical reaction affects our hair, putting at risk even the best bleaching that our professional hairdresser does for us, we want to start with a simple example of everyday life.

If by cutting an apple and leaving it to rest for a few minutes you notice that its slices begin to become darker, then you are witnessing a chemical reaction whereby a substance that comes into contact with oxygen undergoes a molecular variation which entails a change in color, then oxidation.

The exact same process takes place on the hair which, exposed to oxygen for a long time, will undergo a change in tone, turning towards yellow or orange and losing its shine. To counteract this process, which is however impossible to avoid, it is necessary to carry out a careful e accurate maintenance with a few simple precautions.

-Make a toning treatment at least once a month to limit the appearance of the annoying yellow reflection, keeping our color under control.

- Avoid excessive and prolonged use of hair dryers, straighteners and heat sources which strongly accelerate the oxidation process, or use pre-drying products that protect your hair from heat.

-Make a restorative treatment in combination with the toner to rehydrate the hair which, subjected to discoloration, is dehydrated. Vitamin E in this treatment is one of the best known antioxidants and helps to effectively counteract the oxidative process
